Serious Warning! See the 7 Hidden Signs of Lung Cancer You Should NEVER Ignore Today

Lung cancer is a dangerous ailment is a cause of thousand of deaths every year. These are certain signs of the killer disease you can’t joke with.

Lung cancer

Do you know the early warning signs of lung cancer? Here are seven you should look out for.

Several thousands are newly diagnosed with lung cancer every year around the world, according to Cancer Research UK.

And although 89% of cases are preventable, lung cancer accounts for roughly 36,000 deaths a year.

The lungs are part of a complex apparatus, expanding and relaxing thousands of times each day to bring in oxygen and expel carbon dioxide.

There are many types of lung disease including pneumonia, asthma and tuberculosis and lung cancer.

Smoking is the main avoidable risk factor for lung cancer, linked to an estimated 86% of cases in the UK.

An estimated 89% of lung cancers in the UK are linked to lifestyle factors such as occupational exposures (13%), and ionising radiation (5%).

But what are the early warning signs of lung cancer? Here are seven things that could indicate you are suffering from the life-threatening disease:

1. Chronic cough

A cough that doesn’t go away after two or three weeks or a long-standing cough that gets worse.

This is an important early symptom that tells you something is wrong with your respiratory system.

2. Persistent chest infections

Chest infections are common, especially after a cold or flu during autumn and winter. But if you just can’t get rid of it, it could be a sign of something more serious.

3. Wheezing

Noisy breathing or wheezing is a sign that something unusual is blocking your lungs’ airways or making them too narrow.

Wheezing from one side of your chest is a common sign that you have a tumour.

4. Coughing up blood

If you are coughing up blood, it may be coming from your lungs or upper respiratory tract. Wherever it’s coming from, it signals a health problem.

5. Pain when breathing

Pain while breathing could be an early warning sign of cancer. Laboured or difficult breathing – the feeling that it is hard to breathe in out – is also a red flag.

6. Tiredness of lack of energy

Everyone gets tired and run down from time to time, but if you constantly feel exhausted you should contact your doctor.

Tiredness of lack of energy could be a sign of lung disease, but it’s also a symptom of type-2 diabetes.

7. Loss of appetite/unexplained weight loss

If you’re normally a big eater, but you’ve suddenly gone off your food this could be a sign of something more serious.

Losing weight suddenly for no reason could also be a symptom.

How to prevent lung disease?

There are certain factors which increase your risk of lung disease and there ore there are certain ways you can protect yourself against it. Here are four easy ways to reduce your risk:

1. Quit smoking

Smoking is the leading cause of lung cancer, accordion to Cancer Research UK. Lung cancer death risk is around 15 times higher in current smokers compared with never-smokers, a cohort study of British males showed.

2. Eat more fruit and veg

Choose a healthy diet with a variety of fruits and vegetables. Food sources of vitamins and nutrients are best. Avoid taking large doses of vitamins in pill form, as they may be harmful.

Insufficient fruit and vegetables intake is linked to an estimated 9% of lung cancer cases in the UK.

3. Exercise regularly

If you currently don’t do any exercise, start slowly and build up to three sessions a week.

4. Avoid carcinogens at work

It you work with toxic chemicals, make sure to take all precautions to protect yourself.

If given a face mask make sure you always wear it and ask your doctor what you can do to protect yourself further.

If you are concerned about any of the symptoms above please see your doctor immediately.

7 Signs That You’re ‘The One’ for Him

These seven signs are absolute proof that you’re the one for him (and vice versa).

1. He’s His Best Self With You

Sure, there’s conflict that you have to work through in every relationship, but when you’re with your person, you’ll feel more alive, joyful, and adventurous. If it’s not the right relationship there could be feelings of anger, helplessness, and you might not like yourself much when you’re together.

2. You Don’t Agree on Everything

One of the important myths to dispel is the belief that you’ll feel completely compatible in every way. For example, you’ll have the same hobbies, the same likes and dislikes, and the same politics. But our research suggests that compatibility of similar interests are mostly irrelevant. What’s more important is what it feels like when you’re together. You may both love to kayak, but if you’re arguing going down a river that common interest really doesn’t matter.

3. You Make Him Feel Wonderful

If he feels desired, attractive, funny, and all-around wonderful around you, then he’s probably considered that you could be the one. And the same goes for how he makes you feel about yourself. Remember this.

4. He Feels Safe

If he feels like he is home when he is with you—then you could be the one for him. When you’re with the right person, you feel comfortable and relaxed. If every time you’re together things are negative, that’s not a good sign.

5. Your Similarities Are Compatible

Chances are that you won’t be exactly alike, and this is a good thing. Men and women get to learn a lot from their differences. But there is one arena where compatibility is very important—feelings. How do you both relate to anger, sadness, fear, and joy? How do you express affection and love? If you have very different feelings about feelings, it can cause trouble.

6. He Doesn’t Mourn the Single Life

When he finds “the one,” he’s thankful for what she adds to his life. He shouldn’t compare his committed relationship with you to what he might be missing out on by being single.

7. You Agree on Children

The only other make-or-break issue in determining if you’re “the one” is the issue of children. Whether you both want them or neither of you do, agreeing on this important fact is key to settling down with the person meant for you.

Here Are Four Foods That Burn Belly Fat Faster

Looking for an easy and faster way to lose weight? Then make sure you indulge in the following four foods.

Cherries

Fish

When your diet is deficient in omega-3s—a very common nutrient in fish—your pineal gland—a gland in your brain that helps regulate your nervous system—is thrown off, leading to alterations in the production of melatonin, your sleep hormone. People with an omega-3 deficit don’t sleep during their usual rest periods, which can lead to things like unhealthy late-night eating.

Fish is also rich in protein, which previous research has shown can satiate your appetite. You even burn more calories digesting protein than you do when you eat fats or carbs. Plus, eating more omega-3s can boost heart health and lower your risk of dementia.

Nuts

These legumes are a great source of mood-boosting magnesium. And eating more of it can help people who have sleep troubles doze peacefully through the night, according to a 2010 study published in the journal Magnesium Research. One group of the 100 tossers-and-turners over age 51 was given 320 milligrams of magnesium a day, while the other group was given a placebo. After seven weeks, those taking the magnesium were sleeping better—which research shows can lead to less overeating and weight gain. As a bonus, the women had lower levels of dangerous inflammation, a rogue reaction by the immune system that is implicated in heart disease, cancer, diabetes, and Alzheimer’s disease.

Milk

It turns out that milk may really do a body good when it comes to belly fat. A 2010 study by researchers at the University of Alabama at Birmingham found that among a group of more than 100 premenopausal women, fat was significantly reduced in those who consumed the most calcium-rich foods. In fact, for every 100 milligrams of calcium they consumed per day (that’s half cup of soft-serve frozen yogurt), they lost an inch of intra-abdominal fat—the really bad stuff tucked in and around your internal organs that has been linked to higher rates of heart disease and cancer.

Calcium can also help you sleep if you tend to be awakened by muscle soreness or cramps—the mineral, along with calcium, helps relax muscle nerves and fibers.

Cherries

Around bedtime, munch on a few tart Montmorency cherries. These cherries are one of a number of plant-based sources of melatonin, the sleep hormone. While there’s no evidence that they’ll help you nod off, studies have found that foods like these (such as bananas) can raise melatonin levels in the body. Not only does melatonin help you sleep, but it’s a powerful antioxidant, which can also promote weight loss.

9 Signs You Have a Toxic Partner, Even If You’re In Denial

Here are nine signs you may be dating a toxic person.

1. They Put You Down

It’s normal and completely healthy to get in an argument with your SO, but that doesn’t mean they can mock you, call you names, or discredit your feelings. They call you names and put you down constantly.

2 They Blame You For Everything
A relationship can become unhealthy when your partner doesn’t take any responsibility for their actions, especially if they believe they’re “perfect” and don’t find fault in their own actions.

3. They Manipulate Any Situation To Get Their Way
Manipulation is the complete opposite of what love is supposed to be. Relationships are about compromise and understanding. Just because your partner doesn’t get their way doesn’t mean they should pout or try to pressure you to get what they want. This can make you second-guess yourself and allow you to lose sight of your own goals and values. If your partner can’t respect that, then you might want to reevaluate the relationship.

4. They Never Follow Through On Their Promises

They promise to stop doing something that they know hurts you but never follow through. Trust is numero uno in most relationships. However, the believability of your partners’ credo can slowly diminish when they continue to give you false promises.

5. They Dismiss Your Emotions

Nothing is worse than when you’re trying to express yourself to your partner and they completely discredit what your saying. They roll their eyes, heavily sigh, and state you’re being “dramatic” again. They dismiss your feelings or opinion as being wrong.

6. They Make You Question Yourself

A toxic partner makes you question yourself constantly. A classic description is feeling like you have to walk on eggshells because you don’t want to do anything that can possibly upset them.

7. You Can’t Be Yourself Around Them

Let’s be real: what’s the point of being in a relationship if you can’t be yourself? Your partner should motivate you to be the best version of yourself and not make you feel insecure or bring you down. A toxic partner will not let you be you. They want you to be what they think you should be. The result is that you feel like you are losing yourself and that you will never be good enough as you are. You feel unloved and insecure
.
8. Problems Are Never Resolved

The same arguments repeat and never resolve.” This tends to happen a lot when you’re in a relationship with a toxic partner. While you might want to give your partner the benefit of the doubt, continuing to have these arguments over and over again can tarnish your relationship and be emotionally draining, too.

9. You Don’t Have Respect Toward Your Partner

When you view your partner as a narcissist or a child, your SO may be toxic. For instance, when your partner continues to make child-like decisions and only thinks of themselves, it’s hard to have respect for a person who won’t consider your feelings.

Respect and trust is the basic foundation of every relationship. If your relationship don’t have these qualities, then it might be time to reconsider why your in the relationship in the first place. Remember: it’s not worth ignoring your values and character for a toxic partner. Love yourself first and trust the path your bound to take

22 Signs Your Boss Secretly Hates You

Here are 22 signs to tell you that your boss at work secretly hates you but cannot tell you in person.

Boss gets angry with employee (File photo)

We all think from time to time that our bosses hate us.  Rest assured, 9 times out of 10, the problem is entirely in our heads. But just in case you’re in one of those rare situations, it’s best to know the truth. At least that way you stand a chance of changing his or her view of you.

Here are 22 possible signs that your boss probably hates you, a lot.

1. Your gut tells you so

You’ve just got a bad feeling about it. Are you usually spot on with your gut feelings? If you are, you might consider taking this as a preliminary clue, rather than as a sign that you are crazy or overly anxious.

2. You’re out of the loop

Your boss doesn’t come to you with tasks or questions or involve you in big decisions and discussions. In general, you’re not asked for input on anything of import, which may mean you aren’t valued.

3. He doesn’t look you in the eye

This could be a sign that your boss is harboring a bit of hostility and would rather that go undetected. Also eye contact in general signals a certain degree of attention and trust, which you aren’t getting.

4. She never smiles at you

Or even around you. If this can’t simply be explained by a mood swing or a bad week, then you might start asking yourself questions.

5. You’re the only one getting micromanaged

Micromanagers are the absolute worst. But if you notice that no one else in your office is being subject to the same treatment, that’s a surefire sign you’re on the N@ughty list.

6.They avoid you

If your boss is always nipping out of the room when you enter, waiting for another elevator, swerving around a cubicle to avoid your eye, and never overlapping during your main work hours…something is up.

7. You barely exist

Your boss doesn’t acknowledge your presence or arrival with a simple nod or hello or “have a good night.” Seriously, how hard is that? There has to be a reason.

8. You’re getting monosyllables

All your questions, even “How are you?”s are met with one word answers. And emails are perfunctory with no nice greetings or signatures. Basically, if you feel you’re getting the silent treatment from a teenage girl.

9. Bad body language

Crossed arms, impatience, not looking up when you enter their office… and generally projecting an air of standoffishness.

10. You’re in email jail

Whereas your boss routinely has small meetings or conversations with your coworkers, she communicates with you solely over email, as if avoiding face time.

11. You’re not on the inside

Anytime there is a special project or important meeting, you’re not involved.

12. She keeps her door closed

Though, that might be a sign that your boss hates everyone, not just you.

13. The wall of "no"

You can’t get anything right. Every suggestion you make is put down. Every answer you give is corrected. You ask for something and you get a big fat "no." It’s even more telling if your boss is not like this with your other coworkers.

14. He doesn’t ever get personal

Even in a particularly all-business office, personal conversations crop up now and again. If your boss is asking your coworkers about their kids and weekends and hobbies, but never you? Bad sign.

15. You get all the grunt jobs

You keep getting assigned all the jobs that no one else would touch with a 10-foot pole, well below your pay grade and experience.

16. She’s stingy with the feedback

Even when you ask for it. She doesn’t seem to care whether you progress or your work improves. This sort of indifference is not good for your relationship or your career.

17. She gives you plenty of feedback (negative, and publicly)

You’re voted Most Likely To Get Dressed Down at the Meeting. If your boss is going out of her way to embarrass or humiliate you, you’re in big trouble. That disrespect is highly unprofessional, so it’s probably coming from somewhere deep.

18. You’re not in on the jokes

It’s like middle school all over again and you’re on the outside of all the inside jokes. If there’s a lot of banter in your office and you never have to take a turn getting roasted, that could also be a bad sign.

19. He takes the credit

Every good thing you manage to accomplish, and every good idea you have, seems to be presented in the end as his.

20. Your good projects get reassigned

The one thing that kept you getting jazzed about coming into work? Gone next Monday. Given to someone else with little explanation. It’s like someone took your toy away.

21. You hear the phrase “personality clash”

If your boss says something like this out loud to describe your relationship, then chances are she doesn’t like you very much. This is polite speak for I HATE YOUR GUTS GET OUT OF MY FACE.

22. You seem to make her horribly impatient

Your boss has all the time in the world for the office dunce, for other people’s mistakes, but zero for you. She’s always short and curt and jiggling her foot.

If any of these 22 warning signs ring true for you, it might be worth a conversation, a strategy on how to change the situation, or even a search for another job. But, like we said, better to know!

Tips: How To Give Your Man Exactly What He Wants For Valentine’s Day

How To Give Your Man Exactly What He Wants For Valentine’s Day

Make his fantasy come true.

Ladies, let’s be honest — you don’t have a Valentine’s Day present for your man yet, do you?

Because what do women get men for Valentine’s Day? Men have a whole laundry list of easy V-Day gift clichés they can use (roses, jewelry, chocolates), but women don’t have it so easy.

Americans spend over $19 BILLION on Valentine’s Day gifts every year, but can anyone name a Valentine’s Day gift that men actually enjoy?

54% of women bought their man candy in 2015. (They can eat candy whenever they want.) 56% gave their man a greeting card. (Destined for the recycle bin the following week.) Men don’t really want diamond rings, couple massages, or singing teddy bears either.

There’s actually only ONE thing that men REALLY want on Valentine’s Day.

SEX.

Yes, the choice is always up to the woman (and the man damn well better be worth it), but sex is the ultimate no-brainer Valentine’s gift for a guy.

But how do you actually give sex as a present?

The easy answer is lingerie.

According to sales reports, North Americans spend over well over a billion dollars on lingerie every year, particularly around Valentine’s Day.

However, isn’t lingerie really just the wrapping more than the gift?

You might be able to rock out a new bra and some garters like a Victoria’s Secret model, but if, once that wrapping is removed, you both start in on the same ol’ boring “bimonthly date night sex” — what’s the point? Aren’t you just re-gifting him something he’d get anyway in a fancy new package?

Valentine’s Day is supposed to be the sexiest day of the year.

YOU CAN DO BETTER.

This year, don’t just settle for giving him the gift of seeing you in lingerie. This year, you can actually give him the sex he’s looking for and it can be just as easy (if not easier) than ordering him flowers.

Use this Valentine’s Day to present him with the kind of sex that you KNOW he’s interested in, but doesn’t know how to ask for it. (OR the sex he never stops asking about, but you’ve been apprehensive.)

But how? How do you give him something NEW in the bedroom without turning the evening into a complete disaster?

Because no one wants to spend their Valentine’s Day in the emergency room because they wiped out trying to do a Kama Sutra headstand for the first time ever or got hot candle wax somewhere sensitive.

Fortunately, there is a solution.

If you want to take your Valentine’s sex game to the next level this year, one of the easiest answers is The Fantasy Box.

Sounds fun, right? The Fantasy Box is a subscription service that’s designed to hold your hand as you venture into new sexual territory. Their experts create exciting, curated sexy experiences that are delivered right to your doorstep.

What does that mean? It means that they do all the work. (Thank God.)

The Fantasy Box offers a variety of different boxes designed around specific kinds of sexual fantasies —you pick what kind of fantasy you want to act out and they send you everything you need.

Their boxes come with all the gear you’ll require — toys, lingerie, lubricants, massage oils — frank, friendly “role cards” that thoroughly explain the fantasy, the set-up, and the execution.

Here’s why services like Fantasy Box are such a godsend around Valentine’s Day. Chances are, your man wants to “try” something that neither of you have ANY experience with.

Just to give you some examples, in a 2014 study published in the Journal of Sexual Medicine, researchers broke down some of the most common sexual fantasies for men.

64% were interested in trying anal sex with a woman.

46% of men wanted to be tied up during sexual activity.

60% of men wanted to dominate someone sexually and 53% wanted to be dominated sexually.

So, we know that there are common fantasy scenarios that men WANT to try, but how do you get started?

You don’t want to both pretend that you know what you’re doing. Or nervously walk into a sex store and haphazardly buy all the materials you THINK you need. (That’s how you end up with cheap cinnamon-flavored edible panties that NO ONE wants to get anywhere near their mouths.)

But fantasy subscription services make it easy to try something new.

For example, as we learned from that study, 64% of men will definitely appreciate one of Fantasy Box’s most popular boxes — Backdoor 101.

These services know what it’s like when couples venture into unknown territory for the first time, so their boxes address everything — how to prepare, how to make things less icky, how to stop worrying and make the experience hot AF.

(They also have playful boxes, costume boxes, “control boxes,” if you want to take your man to see the new 50 Shades of Grey movie this Valentine’s Day and let him channel his inner Christian.)

More than anything, ladies, you need to stop thinking of lingerie as the ultimate sexy gift for men on Valentine’s Day.

Lingerie is great, but all it does is build up anticipation.

If you don’t have anything special planned for once the wrapping is removed, you might as well just get him a Build-a-Bear.

However, if you want him to remember this Valentine’s Day FOREVER (and if you wouldn’t mind having some memorable, mind-blowing sex yourself), put a little effort into trying something new in the bedroom this February 14th.

Fulfill some long-time desires, explore your sexual boundaries, and, if you need a little extra help (or aren’t sure what to do), order a Fantasy Box and let them set the mood and handle the logistics.

It’s just as easy — heck, even easier — than buying a new bustier online and it will be the best Valentine your man will ever receive. (He’ll never stop thanking you.)
